Welcome!
Here are some things you ought to know...
Monika Krasauskas is a student at the University of Illinois-Chicago, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Economics with a minor in Architectural Studies. Her academic focus spans developmental economics, economic policy, and the intricate relationships between these fields, with a growing interest in international and European economics. Monika is passionate about using creative approaches to analyze human interactions in the collective economic sphere and how these interactions shape the world around us.

Beyond her studies in economics, Monika has a keen interest in design and architecture. She is passionate about design and how it can offer new perspectives, especially when it gives us a chance to critique what we thought we knew. Her essay Chicago Ideal does just that as she navigates her initial critiques about living in Chicago and how we function within it, then shifts to critique her own assumptions and perspectives. She believes that strategic design through digital and physical experiences can shift how we understand and engage with the world and provoke reflections on our own lives. She's interested in studying the established, testing how it could be changed, and if that change is feasible and rational- like an economist/designer hybrid!
